On June 30, 2009, Otsuka Chemical Co., Ltd. merged with Otsuka Chemical Holdings Co., Ltd., and, with a subsequent exchange of shares on July 1, 2009, began business anew as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Otsuka Holdings Co., Ltd.
